During the summer of 2003, Wayne Harker-Gill, William Broome and Claire Vear decided to collaborate on a portfolio of work. The result of which is a collection that is bold and vibrant in its use of colour. Inspired by the garden and objects around them at the time of painting. The trio have worked in mixed media on a large scale and combined their styles of painting with a use of graphics. In the work you can see the use of surface pattern, both Wayne and Claire trained as printed textile designers (John Moore’s University Liverpool / Derby University). William Broome studied fashion at St Martins and is currently teaching art.
The images have been painted with a consideration of interiors in mind; they make a wonderful focal point and also a great talking point for the home.
These paintings gave all 3 a great deal of pleasure in producing and hopefully this is conveyed in the work. Fresh and bold they are contemporary, desirable and affordable.
Exhibition runs from 2 to 26 February
