Park NewsRob Hay of Newcastle Drive would like to thank all those residents who protested the application to build on the sliver of land opposite 17/19 Newcastle Drive. The application has been refused. Click on "Read more..." to read the text of his message.

Hopefully you will have all received a notice from the Council, but in case you haven't, the very welcome news is that the planning application to build opposite 17/19 Newcastle Drive has been withdrawn.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for taking the time to write to the council planning office to voice your disapproval of the prosposal. It's good to know that there is a significant number of people who are concerned about over-development of The Park.

Only time will tell whether the owners of the land involved will attempt another application (though I suspect it's likely at some point), but well done to everyone for helping to secure the right result on this occasion.

Best regards

Rob Hay
