Hotel des Clos

Hidden on the banks of the Trent, down unlikely-looking Lenton Lane is the best restaurant in Nottingham. Our meal at the Hotel des Clos was certainly amongst the best I have ever eaten anywhere and I once drove 660 miles to eat dinner at the legendary Altnaharrie Inn in Ullapool so I think I know what I'm talking about.

Hotel des Clos received their Michelin Star in February and chef Sat Bains is Roux scholar and veteran of the 3 Michelin Star, Jardin des Sens in Montpellier.

The restaurant received a rating of 5 (out of 10) in the Good Food Guide, which can only be described as an error of scandalous proportions. This is serious, world-class food, with prices to match. For the time being you won't find anything to compare with it in the county.
